- Description / Abstract
- Many chronic diseases are preventable, yet the prevalence and number of chronic disease are increasing, especially for Canadians between the ages of 30 and 60 years. Risk factors that contribute to the development of chronic diseases are related to behavioural, metabolic, environmental and socioeconomic factors. Pharmacy technicians play a critical role in supporting individuals living with chronic diseases, identifying patients who may be at risk for chronic disease and multimorbidity and supporting patients with disease prevention and management.
