Description / Abstract: Oftentimes, individuals with hypertension and dyslipidemia rely on a combination of pharmacotherapy and healthy lifestyle changes to manage their condition. Pharmacists, as accessible healthcare professionals, are in an ideal position to promote adherence to medication regimens and lifestyle changes, and support patients trying to achieve specific treatment goals. This online program is specifically designed for pharmacists interested in providing counselling and support to patients with hypertension and dyslipidemia. Through a series of online modules, this course provides an overview on the current management of hypertension and dyslipidemia, as well as lifestyle modifications to optimize therapy. Motivational interviewing concepts are also introduced to help pharmacists identify how to empower patients to improve overall cardiovascular health.
