- Pharmacists play a key role in medication management and often require lab values to guide treatment, monitor response to treatment, and detect disease progression. This course will: define terms used to describe and differentiate lab tests describe patient-specific factors (e.g. medical conditions, concurrent medications) that must be considered when interpreting and using lab test results list medications that may influence lab results outline the role of community pharmacists for each type of lab result assess your knowledge along the way The goal of this course is to review foundational information as well as provide clinical pearls and resources. Some lab tests that pharmacists may see in more specialized practices, including prescribing, will be beyond the scope of this course and would be part of an advanced monitoring program.
