Description / Abstract: In recent years the scope of pharmacist practice has evolved significantly across Canada. The integration of minor ailments in the scope of practice of most pharmacists, has increased patient access to the assessment and management of common conditions that can have a significant impact on many patients in their community. Acne and atopic dermatitis are two very common dermatological conditions that are seen almost every day in pharmacy practice. Optimal management of these conditions can lead to a significant reduction in the burden experienced by affected individuals. This program is designed to provide pharmacists with an update on the assessment, management and follow-up of these common skin conditions. There are four modules in this program, including: • Pediatric atopic dermatitis, • Adult atopic dermatitis, • Mild to moderate acne in teens, and • Beyond topical treatment for acne.
